A Big Win For Teachers In This Year Budget Allocation Of Kshs.298.4 Billion.
It is a big win for the teachers in this year’s budget passed by the members of Parliament last Thursday.
This amounts to a total of ksh 298.4 billion which has been allocated to teachers service commission to be used in both recurrent and development expenditure.List Of Teachers Who Will Not Be Elligible For July Employment, According To TSC.
289.97 Kshs. Billion of this amount will be used to fund teachers resource management while KSH 1.16 billion will be used for governance and standards and finally the remaining KSH 7.25 billion will go to general administration planning and support services.
Among the teachers who are set to reap big from TSC’s allocation are the unemployed who are set to be hired on permanent and pensionable terms.
Others are those who are due for promotions under career progression guidelines on common cadre grades.
Besides, TSC plans to use part of the money to hire teachers on contract as interns for a period of one year.
However, MPs have already questioned TSC’s criteria which only considers teachers below the age of 35 for internship leaving out those above that age bracket.
In this year’s national expenditure, Other great beneficiaries include state department of infrastructure which got KSH 221.9 billion, national treasury 174.4 and stage department for interior which received KSH 143.5 billions.
In total, the executive arm of government got KSH 2.03 trillion while the judiciary got KSH 18.88 billion and Parliament KSH 50.22 billion of Uhuru’s last budget.
