Return Of Midterm Break Mid Oct.2021
The government has given in following pressure from the students ,to the introduction of a midterm break in the middle of this month. This comes a time when there is increased cases of students riots and fire incidents in schools across the country.The fact that students never had enough time to stay with their family at home is thought to have been the cause of these increased incidences.A Big Smile For The Teachers As The President Orders TSC To Reward Them. The School Principals’placed their request on the halfterm break which has been granted by the Ministry of Education in a document that has been approved. The midterm break is aiming at curbing the students’ riots witnessed in the recent weeks.
“On behalf of principals we did a letter last week, asking for a half term break , the secretary and I had earlier separately talked to director Secondary on the same as far half term break is concerned, I have also today talked to PS this morning on the same and he confirmed they have our letter I will find time tomorrow to visit jogoo God willing. Will let you know of any outcome.” Said Kahi Ndimuli.
The following were addressed;
1. There are incidences of fire in many parts of the country. Kindly, let’s be vigilant and be available in the schools to arrest the situation.School principals revealed the reasons why students are stricking
2. Communicate to the students that there will be a midterm in November. The actual dates will be given in the CS circular. He said this when we had a meeting on 27/10/21 at KSG.
3. We are planning for resumtion of co- curricular activities amidist the pandemic.So, MoH and MoE are closely working together to chart the way forward on the protocols”Margret Mwirigi,CDE-Nyamira.
The mid term break is scheduled to commence on Friday 19th,November 2021 as per a letter sent toRegional Directors of Education and County Directors of Education by the Principal Secretary Julius Jwan.He further stated that the learner’s will report back to school on Tuesday 23rd.November.2021.
